Sun West Board Meeting Highlights




BOARD OF EDUCATION HIGHLIGHTS

The Sun West School Division Board of Education held its regular meeting on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 in Rosetown at the Sun West Learning Centre.

  • The Board approved the 2022-23 School Year Calendar. A committee of division office staff, administrators, teachers, support staff, students and community members developed the calendar and considered the results of a survey completed by over 1000 stakeholders. Prior to distribution to schools and the public the proposed calendar requires approval by the Ministry of Education.
  • Boards of Education are providing input into the Provincial Education Plan (PEP) under development by a provincial committee of Saskatchewan’s education stakeholders. The Board reviewed the PEP areas of focus and the Director of Education will pass on their thoughts to the committee.
  • Dr. Ted Amendt, the Saskatchewan School Boards Association (SSBA) Director of School Board Development Services, attended the meeting to advise the Board on potential directions for commencing a Board Policy Review.
